TRIFON DIMITROV
Trifon Dimitrov was born in Pleven, Bulgaria. He graduated with a degree in Jazz Performance, upright and electric bass, from the National Academy of Music in Sofia. As a student he performed for local and international jazz festivals, live in jazz clubs throughout Bulgaria and Germany and recorded for the Bulgarian National Radio and Television, along with dozens of other studio recordings.
2002-2004 Trifon moved to Germany where he continued studying Jazz Performance and developed his Upright Bass skills. He became a member of a jazz trio hosting a weekly jam session at the world famous JazzKeller in Frankfurt am Main.
In 2004, he continued his education, graduating from the Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music in NYC, where he soon became a teacher, after graduating.
Still based in New York, Trifon performs at numerous Jazz Festivals, clubs (Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls and others), TV and Radio shows throughout the world as well as on Broadway in NYC.
He has had the honor to work with world-renowned musicians such as Jimmy Heath, Randy Brecker, Earl McIntyre, Renee Manning, TS Monk, Nat Adderley Jr, Tommy Campbell, Tony Lacatosh, Duane Eubanks, David Amram, Dion Parson, Theodosy Spasov, Zoran Madjirov, Antony Donchev. Trifon Dimitrov is always working to develop his talent and is honored to be a student of jazz legend Ron Carter.
